Glamour magazine has an article talking about health and body in their November 2009 issue. I thought this point was a great one to share:
"The healthiest, most effective way to lose weight is to eat small, balanced meals and snacks every few houes so your brain never goes into the starvation panic mode..."
They talk about how fad diets will do nothing for you. Your body will start to panic, and try to maintain all fat reserves.
Here are some of my ideas for a light snack:
- Rice cakes with peanut butter on them
- Apple slices and cheese, or peanut butter
- Hand full of whole raw almods with some fresh berries
- Yogurt and granola
- Raisins and celery
Remember, you should be eating every 2-3 hours, even if it's something small. This will maintain blood sugar levels, keep your energy up, and keep your metabolism running.
